Ohio Birth Injury Attorney

Todd E. Gurney

I have been handling birth negligence claims for The Eisen Law Firm since 2007. For more than a decade, I have assisted families as they try to figure out what happened to their innocent child. Although I cannot go back in time and undo the harm that has occurred to you or your child, I can promise that I will do everything in my power to ensure you receive compensation that takes into account your medical expenses, lost wages, future medical care, and other costs you have incurred.

I attended Indiana University, where I graduated in 2002 with a major in philosophy. As an undergraduate student, I strengthened my critical thinking skills, as well as my problem-solving skills—both of which help me tremendously in my law practice. After graduating from college, I attended law school at Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. I graduated in 2005 and joined The Eisen Law Firm a year later.

My entire practice is dedicated to litigating medical malpractice claims, including birth injury claims. I work on every phase of the case, from filing the initial paperwork to arguing in court. No matter what course your case takes, I am able to help. I have negotiated favorable settlement agreements in mediations and settlement conferences, and I have worked on several cases that resulted in long courtroom battles. I have also handled appeals for many of my clients. I stand by my clients through every step of the case—and they know that they are able to reach me at any time, day or night, with any questions that they may have.

I am proud to serve my local community through various organizations. For more than ten years, I have been a member of the Ohio Association for Justice and the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. The Ohio Association for Justice works to ensure that everyone has access to our justice system, and the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys focuses exclusively on injury law. In 2015, I joined the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, and I have served as its treasurer and secretary as well. In 2018, I was honored to be named an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Birth negligence cases are absolutely devastating for the families that must go through them. I take pride in freeing my clients of the burdens of the legal system—they do not have to worry about filing deadlines, evidence, and trial strategies as their cases progress. Instead, they are able to focus on taking care of their injured children and helping them live as comfortably as possible.

I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you personally to learn about your story and see if my experience and expertise are a strong fit for your claim. You are not one of hundreds and hundreds of clients; we focus exclusively on a smaller number of cases to ensure each client receives the attention they deserve.
